iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus Owners Eligible for $35 Million Settlement #

Some owners of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus may be eligible for a payout as part of a $35 million settlement. Users who experienced audio chip issues could receive compensation up to $349. These issues relate to functionalities such as FaceTime, loudspeaker, Siri, and the voice memo app. The lawsuit was filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California in 2019. Apple has denied any wrongdoing. The settlement requires users to have owned iPhone 7 models between September 16, 2016, and January 3, 2023, and either reported an issue or paid for a related repair. Eligible users may receive communication about the settlement and must file a claim by June 3. The final approval hearing is scheduled for July 18. This settlement follows a previous payout related to a class-action lawsuit accusing Apple of slowing down older devices with system upgrades.
